Workshop "questionnaire development" in Kassel
The workshop "questionnaire development" takes place on May 7th and 8th in Kassel. Alltogether approximately 40 project-coordinators of the KOAB-partner-universities and the INCHER-team discuss several questionnaire versions (for law-, medicine- or teaching-post-graduates) and single questions concerning "migration, "distance studies", "dual studies" and "studium with disability" for the forthcomming graduate survey of 2013. The discussion extends to core-questions that enable comparability between the KOAB-universities and to optional questions that can be added voluntarily. The field period starts in the winter term 2012/2013. In KOAB this workshop is the second in the course of the graduate survey 2013 that surveys the graduates of 2011. On the workshop, the results of the discussion in the recently installed electronic platform KOLAB will be presented and discussed.
Questionnaire-discussion on new communication platform - workshop “Questionnaire Development” in May
The 2011 graduate survey is taking shape: In several task groups, KOAB-project-coordinators and the INCHER-team discuss the various versions of questionnaires that are available to the KOAB-partner-universities to survey their graduates.
This discussion mainly takes place on the recently implemented KOLAB-platform - an electronic communication-platform that enables the simplification of communication concerning various fields of the projects activities. In particular, KOLABs forum-functions are simplifying the communication between INCHER-Kassel and the the KOAB-coordinators. Currently, 11 workgroups debate in 11 forums about the different variations of the KOAB-questionnaire (i.e. law, medicine) and different questions such as dual studies, migration, distance studies and study and disability. The field phase begins with the winter term of 2012/2013.
The workgroups main purpose is to gather the requirements of modification and to acquire bases of decision for the redesign of the KOAB-survey questionnaires. This discussion shall culminate in the KOAB–Workshop 2 “Questionnaire Development” on 7th and 8th May, where the results of the workgroups are going to get presented and discussed.
This workshop is also addressed at universities that still would like to participate in the current survey.
SPSS-seminar starts
Due to several requests, KOAB is fortunately able to arrange a course of generating statistical analysis, reports and graphs by using the data processing program SPSS. Based on data of graduate- and student-surveys, interested project-coordinators learn to generate analysis ready to be presented in public.
The course takes place from 23rd to 27th april in the university of Kassel. Previous knowledge in SPSS is not required. The course is addressed to participants without or with few previous knowledge.
Our former colleague Oliver Bracht is lecturer again. He has large experience in the conduction of graduate surveys and long-time experience in using SPSS. Currently he is head of the department "Methods and Statistical Techniques" in the renowned market research institution eoda (www.eoda.de). At INCHER, Oliver Bracht was responsible for methods and data anlysis in national and international projects. Oliver Bracht has lectured several courses and tutorials concerning data analysis with SPSS. Since 2009 he lectures in the context of KOAB.
You can find the courses program here (german version).
For the first time: Universities from Bavaria and Austria take part in KOAB
KOAB sets foot on new land, in that case almost literally: Due to the participation of the University of Würzburg and the University of Natural Recources and Life Sciences Vienna, its for the first time that universities from Bavaria and Austria join the KOAB. Theese universities take part in the just initiated survey of 2011 graduates. At the current state, more than 70 universities take part at the 2011 graduate survey.
INCHER-Kassel is very pleased with this development and cordially welcomes all new partner universities. At the same time we want to point out that a registration for the 2011 graduate survey is still possible.
INCHER-Kassel is available for further information.
